Delusiodoodle is committed to creating emotionally safe, inclusive environments where all participants – especially children, vulnerable adults, and neurodivergent individuals – are protected from harm, abuse, and neglect.
Statement of Commitment
We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported. Delusiodoodle will take all reasonable steps to prevent harm and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns across all workshops, events, and digital interactions.
Scope
This policy applies to:

All Delusiodoodle activities, including workshops, exhibitions, and online sessions

All staff, volunteers, facilitators, and collaborators

All participants, including children, vulnerable adults, and carers
Definitions
We follow UK safeguarding definitions, including:

Child: Anyone under 18

Vulnerable adult: A person aged 18+ who may be unable to protect themselves from harm due to age, disability, illness or circumstance

Abuse: Includes physical, emotional, sexual, financial abuse, neglect, discrimination, and self-neglect
Roles & Responsibilities

Safeguarding Lead: The Creator (Samantha Laslett) is the designated safeguarding lead

Volunteers/Facilitators: Must follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately

Participants: Encouraged to speak up if they feel unsafe or witness concerning behaviour
Procedures

All safeguarding concerns must be reported to the Safeguarding Lead within 24 hours

Concerns will be documented and, if necessary, escalated to local safeguarding boards or emergency services

In borough-specific venues, Delusiodoodle will follow local safeguarding protocols and liaise with venue safeguarding officers

Emergency contacts and support resources will be available at each event
Data & Confidentiality

Personal information related to safeguarding is stored securely on a password-protected laptop or in a locked file cabinet

Only the Creator has access unless sharing is required for safeguarding purposes

Information is shared strictly on a need-to-know basis and in line with UK GDPR
Training & Contracts

All future volunteers and facilitators will sign a contract agreeing to uphold Delusiodoodle’s safeguarding, data protection, and accessibility policies

Basic safeguarding awareness training will be provided or signposted before engagement, if applicable
Review & Adaptation

This policy is reviewed annually or after any safeguarding incident

Borough-specific adaptations will be made in collaboration with venue staff and local safeguarding boards
